Edgemoor
Average Selling Price $405,000
To those who have lived in Bellingham for a long time, the name Edgemoor is synonymous with prestige. This image is due to its western half which is predominantly composed of stately homes on half acre lots with breath taking views of Bellingham Bay and the San Juan Islands. The northern part of Edgemoor consists of more contemporary homes on smaller lots, most of which also have bay views. The eastern portion of the neighborhood doesn’t have a view of the water though some of the homes do enjoy views of the Chuckanut Mountains.
The southern portion of the neighborhood contains Clark’s Point, a privately owned penninsula that is maintained as open space. Here residents enjoy a heavily wooded area with a steep rocky slope to Chuckanut Bay. Willow and Clark roads each offer a private Bayside Swim Club that offers its members swimming and also lessons for the general public.
To the north of Edgemoor is the historic Fairhaven shopping district featuring a vast array of shops and restaurants. For your grocery needs there is also a Red Apple Market.
The children of Edgemoor will be taking the bus to Happy Valley Elementary School while the teenagers will be attending Sehome High School. Fairhaven middle school can be found in the northeast corner of the neighborhood and is a convenient walk from most homes.
