Despite the fact there is no housing, the WWU region has an affect on all neighborhoods in Bellingham. Western knows the value of connecting students to the community through a variety of programs. Recent findings have found that 7,647 students have contributed a total of 872,170 hours of service to the community. Western is ranked among the top public regional universities in the West and nation wide by U.S. News & World Report. WWU has also been named among the 100 “most wired” universities in the country by Yahoo.
